It's time to buy some strings now & I must admit to being shocked at how much prices have gone up the last couple of years since I last bought in strings I usually buy 5-10 sets at a time 10-46 (w 3rd) D'aDdario's
Anybody help with the best place to buy ?
Cheers
Dick.

Wait and seed if you are the winner of the prize here. If your luck is anything like mine though, better look up some prices. I normally use Strings Direct but, I think prices are pretty much the same everywhere.
Regards Roger

I may be able to dig some of these up for a decent price for you Dick Did you say that you wanted these "Girlies Super Slinky 9s to 42s" : Or was it these ones "Even Girlier Extra Slinky 8 to 38s" : I forgot which ones that you said you preferred

Hi Dick. I have used Advantage Guitar for strings for some years and there as good as anything else out there and at a fraction of the costs. I was given some Ernie Balls and they sounded the same as these. Always pays to order in bulk. 5 packs of 10's cost me £16.99 (buy 4 one set for free) and they come free post. He is on ebay: stores.ebay.co.uk/Advantage-Musical-Instruments-LtdOr web site: www.advantageguitar.com/I buy all my 9's, 10's and acoustic strings from them. Tony

Hi Tony Thanks for the link, if they are as good as "Brand" strings like Ernie Ball's I'll give the sets with the wound 3rd a go I've looked all over for cheaper "Da'D" strings but there seems to be some "price fixing" going on (as more than one of the posters has noted) that prices are very similar everywhere on line............hmm There's always Sandra's "girly whirly" strings though .............. I will of course only be using 4 of these strings that Tony has pointed me to.....23, 30, 39, 47, to which I will add my (extra manly sizes) of 54, 62. Am I joking ................. Thanks for the help on this folks Dick.

Thats me out of the running then John as I am a little bit outside of those limits age wise but not necessarily if you are talking clothes sizes

I find the D'Addrio strings are harder to the feel that Ernie Ball so I favour Ernie's or Gibson Britewires as there are deals for bulk. I like NewTone when I can get them, as I use their low tension ones, but often have to wait for them.
