HERE'S ONE FOR YOU, TO GET YOU THINKING .... Say you had £10,000.00 given to you (don't we all wish!!!!) - and you had to spend it solely on gear relating to trying to get close to HBM's sound/tone - what would you buy? (No guitars included, 'cos we know that it would have to be an Autograph). Clive

It's easy Clive Strat aside, you need the 1961 Vox amp & Meazzi echo machine....might just be enough cash left over to buy a stand for the Vox and a chair for the Meazzi Dick.

For me that's easy, lessons from someone who could show me how to play his stuff, maybe even get a few tips from Hank himself

ORDERED!!!! ( I wish!) Thanks for your responses guys - I would have expected more, but there you go. You have suggested what I expected. Rgds - Clive How'sabout............Etap2hw + valve amp (good quality amp about £400 with variable pre amp bias & gain with bright function [top boost ?]) includes good quality Celestion speaker (+ £60 for "blue" version) The amp will have line out that can go straight into mixer etc... Copy dynamic mic or Shure for different way of recording £60/70 leads £20 Etap2hw £200-£350 depending on preference (do it yourself etap £100) Amp around £400 less used (I don't think the chinese standard ac15 is good enough) Mic around £60 Leads/mic stands £40 Well under £1000.00 another £250 spent on amp with "blue" speaker will show marked improvement For less than £1000 I am sure I can source an excellent Shads style recording setup & I know you don't have to buy that ridiculously overpriced Sig model Strat, there's lots of Strats around for less than £1000 that will sound the same....... I know a man who would make you a made to measure one for that price ! Off topic....sort of Interesting?......I think so Dick.

This really is a no brainer. I'd spend it on a load of really good French reds. After the first couple of bottles I'm pretty sure the sound would seem perfect to my ears.
